Channel Four/Science Channel - 3 x 60 mins - Wild Blue Media

Producer/Director/Camera/Drone

This major three part series reveals the incredible new archaeological discoveries being made in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. The outside world has long considered this to be a pristine wilderness inhabited by just a few scattered tribes but now scientists are uncovering urban remains that date back centuries before the arrival of the first Europeans. The series will help to force a rethink of the long-held assumption that the Amazon was virtually empty before colonisation and show how the large populations that did inhabit the region transformed the forest around them to create the world we see today.

Two versions of the series were made - with a presenter for Channel Four and without for Discovery Science. Filming for both versions, I made three trips to the Amazon, in both Bolivia and Brazil. As we were embed within the indigenous communities, living and working alongside them, I shot all my own material including drone footage.
